Music from 9p-12a
DJ Wah-Heed was born in Brooklyn, NY and has been playing records since the age of 1. He is greatly influenced by his late Caribbean parents’ love of music, playing everything from World Beat to Funk, Gospel, Jazz, R & B, Motown, Rock, Reggae, Soca, and oldies. Around 1979 after Wah-Heed heard King Tim III (Fatback Band) at Brooklyn’s Labor Day Parade, Hip-Hop took over and Rap music was included in the family record collection. Knowing no DJs personally, Wah-Heed in 1980 taught himself how to scratch 45’s and started learning how to deejay in 1984.
